Metta Theatre was founded in 2005 by director Poppy Burton-Morgan & designer William Reynolds. They make beautiful, imaginative & compelling theatre, using all the story-telling tools at our disposal – including words, music, projection, puppetry and circus.
One of their current productions is The King Of Tiny Things, a new circus and puppetry adaptation of the children’s book, featuring acrobatics, juggling and aerial from a variety of creepy-crawlies. It will be touring outdoors over the summer, and indoors in autumn 2015. Contact us for more info.
They are also creating a new circus and dance theatre production of The Jungle Book. Kipling’s coming of age story is transposed to an urban jungle of skateboarding wolves, pole-dancing snakes, beat-boxing tigers and a break-dancing Bagheera. This spectacular new production will feature a local community chorus of 20 young adults. The Jungle Book will be tour ready in 2016.
